So Who Ya Hangin’ Around With?

Posted: December 11, 2011 in Uncategorized

A common issue for a teenager is their friendship. A lot of people are hypocrites when you’re a teen. They say one thing, then do something else. Maybe that’s already happened to you. So what have you done? For me, I guess I just don’t hang around with them. That’s another thing;who do you hang out with? Of course not every “bad-influence” friend is doing drugs or having a sexual interaction with someone. But, it is a bad influence if you do what they do, and yet you know it’s wrong. It’s kinda like the post called “God is Awesome”. If you have done it before, but you don’t feel like God has accepted you again, trust me, if you have asked to be accepted, he did even before you asked. That’s how awesome He is. So just be careful about who you hang around with. If you’re not sure about something, feel free to ask it in the comments.

God is Awesome

Today was an, okay day I guess. Had the usual, 6 hours of school, basketball practice, ha ha tired as heck, but you know God help’s you through. Now I’m not saying God’s going to get you the new Zigs, or the new Elder Scroll’s Skyrim video game. But I am telling you that he will give you grace and mercy. Trust me, I am the last person to say that I’ve done exactly what God has wanted. Now what you’re friends want from you, is a different thing. A common example is if your best friend tells you to take some drugs or alcohol. But that hasn’t happened to me yet. So here’s an example that might happen in your early teen’s. Say your friend wants you to listen to a total junk head of a rapper, and you say yes. The next day, you get your test handed back from your teacher, and you got a low D. You say a certain word that was said in the song your best friend showed you the night before. Now, your life has changed. You’ll get a punishment, and people will most likely look at you different. I’m not trying to like scare you or anything. But just be careful throughout your life. If you mess up, there is no need to freak out. Talk to God about it, read the Bible, talk to your friends about it. You know, the other ones that will listen to you and will help you throughout this period of life. I know you have some. But just know this: God loves you no matter what. No matter if you murdered someone, lied, stolen something, or did something you regret. Yeah, of course he’s going to be disappointed at you. But that’s only because he knows you have so much potential inside you, that you might be scared of letting it go. Jeremiah 29:11 says “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” Let that be your verse this week.
